Background

The leaders of Jostedalen Breførarlag: ThoreStensberg, Heidi Zimmermann, Steinar  Bruheim and Arve Tvedt and the guides Tshering Phande Bhote and Jyamchang Bhote are all internationally qualified mountain guides and members of the international federation of mountain guides (UIAGM/IVBV), providing a guarantee for quality and safety. The qualification is represented in Norway by the norwegian association of mountain guides (NORTIND).

Jostedalen Breførarlag consists of NF- and internationally qualified glacier- and mountain guides and instructors with long and varied experience of the outdoors and a solid knowledge of local and international mountain areas.

Breførarlaget is a certified NORSK FJELLSPORTFORUM - NF course holder and we qualify and certify glacier instructors. NF is an important forum for cooperation which aims to continually increase standards of quality and safety of trips and courses, as well as the skills of guides, instructors and course holders. Jostedalen Breførarlag is certified to hold courses to the very highest level (II) for NF.
