Welcome to a world of glaciers and mountains |
|
Jostedalen is a west-norwegian community near to the Sognefjord with a thriving local cultural life, magnificent surroundings and not least fantastic glaciers that surround the valley and reach far down the mountainsides. Most well known is the Nigardsbreen, the largest ice arm from the Jostedalsbreen Glacier stretching to only 330 metres above sea level before it surrenders to the low-country summer.
Jostedalen Breførarlag offers a variety of trips and courses from 1 hour up to 6 days. The surrounding countryside - the glaciers and mountains of Jostedalen and Jotunheimen - are perfect for glacier courses and climbing courses. There are several hikes and difficulty levels to choose from, ranging from very easy to advanced, some walks at the Nigardsbreen and more options at other arms of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. Every spring we conduct several ski tours (3 days) crossing the Jostedalsbreen ice cap.
