Booking

All of our tours and courses, except for the private tours, can be booked directly at our homepage.
If it is still empty places at the blue ice hikes you can purchase the tickets directly of your glacier guide (payment cash only and in NOK).

Reservation without payment is not possible. Therefore we recommend to purchase the tickets online at our homepage.

Jotunheimen, courses and privat guiding:
Trekking tours in Jotunheimen and private tours can be cancelled up to 14 days and courses up to 21 days before commence for a fee of 10% of the total price. After the deadline the customer is not entitled to any compensation.

Rebooking is possible after this deadline, courses up to 14 days in advance and hikes or private tours up to 7 days in advance.

Nigardsbreen:
All Blue Ice Hikes, except private tours on Nigardsbreen, can be cancelled up to 7 days before commence for a fee of 10% of the total price. After the deadline the customer is not entitled to any compensation. Rebooking is possible after this deadline, up to 2 days before start of the hike.

For all tours on Nigardsbreen, except the Blue Ice Family Walk, the boat is included in the price during the operating time from about June 10th. until September 10th. (daytime 10:00 - 17:45). Out of the operating hours and if the boat cannot be used for safety reasons or technical defects, there is no claim for reimbursement or reduction of the price.

Groups of 16+ pers:
For all Blue Ice Hikes, except the Blue Ice Family walk, a binding booking with an exact number of participants min. 7 days before the hike starts is absolutely necessary. If no other conditions have been agreed upon with us, the payment will be made in advance.

For the Blue Ice Family Walk the booking has to be made min. 3 days in advance. The payment can be done either via a payment link in advance or at the beginning of the tour (cash only) from our tour guides.

Private guiding

Requests for private tours have to be made in advance by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and will be responded as soon as possible. After the consent of the guest, a link to the payment of the tour will be enclosed in the email. The booked tour must be paid within 48 hours otherwise the reservation will be cancelled.

In case of illness or accident after the expiration of the deadline, we do not give a refund. Travel insurance is therefore recommended.

Age limit

The maximum age limit for childrens tariff is 12 years on Nigardsbreen and 15 years on the trekking tour in Jotunheimen. The age limits indicated in the tour program must be followed.

Starttime - Meetingpoint

If the customer does not appear at the specified time in the program or at the right meeting- point, the person has no right to any compensation of the tour fee.

Safety Declaration

Mountaineering - glacier hiking/ice climbing as well - is a risk sport. Your safety is of our utmost concern. Jostedalen Breførarlag AS (BFL) minimizes the risk through our well trained and experienced guides and instructors. Customers must sign a declaration form of responsibility when the course/trip commences.The undersigned participates on his own responsibility and Jostedalen Breførarlag AS or the guide/instructor shall not be liable for any personal injuries and damages arising on this guided glacier hike/climb.

We do not refund any tickets if participants don’t meet or interrupt the tour or course.
Guests who are not fit to the physical requirements can be excluded from the tour by our guides or sent in a more simple tour without any right to compensation.
Any loss of distributed equipment is the participant’s responsibility and must be compensated. Price e.g: Ice axe NOK 600.-.

Cancellation of trips/courses

BFL reserves the right to cancel trips or courses due to difficult snow, ice or weather conditions or too few participants. If we, Jostedalen Breførarlag AS, have to cancel the tour for security reasons, we will, of course, reimburse the entire amount already paid. If desired, there is also the possibility of a transfer. A customer booking of a course will receive notification of possible cancellation at the latest 7 days before commencement. The entire payment will then be refunded.

Changes

As far as possible, BFL will strive to carry out the specified trips and courses in accordance to the program. If necessary, however, we reserve the right to change the program. Such changes will not affect prices.

Customer liability

It is up to the customer to decide whether he/she meets the demands that the trip/course specifies. The customer is obliged to have the required equipment specified in the course/trip description, and to comply with the advice of the guide/instructor. Should this not occur, the customer can be excluded from participation without the right to demand compensation.
The customer accepts full responsibility for his/her safety on all our activities. BFL does not accept responsibility for accidents or injuries which may arise in conjunction with one of our trips/courses. 

Force majeure

In the event of situations out of BFL's control such as fire, natural catastrophes etc, BFL reserves the right to cancel any agreement and accepts no legal liability for claims of damage, personal loss or injury.

THE CUSTOMER IS REPONSIBLE FOR HIS/HER OWN TRAVEL INSURANCE IN CASE OF INJURY OR ILLNESS.
