This glacier hike is more demanding than the Short Blue Ice Hike. The route passes through some more challenging and steeper parts of the glacier and as a reward you get a great view of the snow covered Jostedalsbreen and the upper part of Nigardsbreen.

Nigardsbreen car park at the equipment depot (sign GUIDE) next to the toilets.
Totally 5 - 5,5 hours, on ice about 2,5 hours.
The total time is calculated as follow:
Boat transport: 15 min. x 2 (no waiting for the boat incl.)
Walking to and from the glacier: 1 hour x 2
Equip/roping up and instruction: approx. 15-30 min.
Glacier hike about 2,5 hour
A long hike, partly steep and a bit exposed in some spots. Surefootedness and hiking experience is required.
Age limit: Min. 12 years.
Warm, wind- and watherproof clothing, sunglasses, lunch package and solid shoes (trekking boots or sport shoes). The clothing must cover the whole body (no shorts or skirts without leggings). More advices about equipment

Upon request. At a start time between 09:30-13:00 the transportation with the glacier boat t/r is included in the price. Otherwise you have to walk by foot from the Nigardsbreen glacier and back to the car park. Duration about 1,5 hour (each way).
